Raquette Lake

Raquette Lake is a hamlet located in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. It is situated in the town of Long Lake in Hamilton County. The hamlet is named after the nearby Raquette Lake, which is the largest natural lake in the Adirondack Mountains.
Raquette Lake is a popular destination for outdoor recreation, including boating, fishing, hiking, and camping. The hamlet is home to several campgrounds and resorts, as well as a public beach and boat launch. There are also several hiking trails in the area, including the Owl's Head Mountain Trail and the Bald Mountain Trail.
One of the most notable attractions in Raquette Lake is the Great Camp Sagamore, a historic 27-building complex that was once the summer retreat of the Vanderbilt family. Today, the camp is open to the public for tours and overnight stays.
Raquette Lake is also home to the Adirondack Museum, which features exhibits on the history and culture of the Adirondack region. The museum is located on a 121-acre campus and includes several buildings and outdoor exhibits, as well as a research library.
